Jacobean Crewelwork
Jacobean Crewelwork connects you to centuries of artistic heritage while you create beautiful, textured designs. A relaxing, rewarding embroidery technique that builds creativity, and an appreciation for traditional stitches and techniques.
Jacobean Crewelwork embroidery is a traditional English needlework style that dates back to the early 17th century, during the reign of James I. It features bold, stylised floral and animal motifs, often worked in wool thread on linen using a rich variety of stitches. Known for its flowing lines and intricate detail, Jacobean Crewelwork combines decorative beauty with historic charm, making it a timeless form of textile art.
Beginner
Everyone comes to my workshops with previous experience; of Jacobean crewelwork, different embroidery techniques, designing, painting other crafting etc… All previous experience is important and you probably already know more than you realise.
Intermediate
Jacqueline has several intermediate designs suitable for introducing a range of extension stitches to the essential 5 such as Whipped Chain stitch, Whipped Back stitch and French knot clusters to create small flowers, buds and textural berries.
Student Gallery
If you are looking for inspiration, have a look at the student gallery. This is where we celebrate student projects. Some students have had previous bear making experience, however for many this is their first bear or the first time they have picked up a needle since school. Jacqueline invites you to come and join us on your own learning journey. Come and join like minded people and indulge yourself with a little mindful Me time. Because, you deserve it!
